Talk is cheap, conversation is richer.

Our studio is run from an architecturally designed property set in a lush podocarp forest in the hills of Pinehaven, Wellington, Aotearoa, New Zealand.

It is a Jon Craig design (of Craig Craig Moller) and was his family home of some fifty years. The house has always been known as ‘The House Among The Trees’, and has been regularly featured in books, magazines and articles profiling iconic mid century homes.

Jon’s old studio is where I work from, and may well have been the place he checked the final drawings for the Auckland Sky Tower, Wellington Airport Terminal or Wellington Hospital. I now have the privilege of using the space for my endeavours, an it’s an inspiring place to work from. Tui, Piwakawaka, Korimako and Kererū are all regulars in the Acers outside my window. Clients and partners are always welcome to visit too.

Having said that, I’m only 25 minutes from Wellington CBD and am regularly in town for client meetings. The change of scenery and the juggernaut of the commute is a welcome change from all the natural beauty I have to put up with on the daily.

Serendipitously we live at ’86ʻ, so as a tribute to Lance Wyman, and his design for the 1968 mexico olympics, I rebuilt the numerals. It is especillay relevant as the house design was begun in 1968.
